What is boudoir photography?

Boudoir is a French word meaning woman’s dressing room (pronounced boo-dwahr).  Boudoir photography is about celebrating your beauty as a woman by creating playful images usually in an intimate setting wearing lingerie.

 

Are you affiliated with any other websites?  I found one with a similar name but the content was different.

Why should I have them done?

The real question is why not?!  Seriously though, aside from the lightening speed at which life passes by, think about capturing and preserving your true beauty as you are today.  How awesome would it be one day when you’re an old grandma sitting in your rocking chair, to look back and appreciate how beautiful you are.  Of course, giving boudoir pictures to your husband or someone special makes a wonderful and usually unexpected gift!

 

Who gets boudoir photos taken?

The boudoir photography trend began with brides-to-be.  Unsuspecting grooms would receive pictures from their new brides on the day of their wedding as a “tease” of what’s to come; or even on their first anniversary (the paper anniversary).  However, as the popularity of boudoir photography has grown, many women from all walks of life are enjoying beautiful images of themselves taken for someone special or for themselves.

 

What if I’m not tiny or don’t have a perfect body?

Great!  No one is perfect.  :)  My job as a photographer is to emphasize your positive attributes and deemphasize those areas you might be self-conscious about, but trust me, you are beautiful exactly the way you are right now.  You are loved exactly the way you are.   Don’t hesitate to capture and celebrate your true beauty.

 

Who will photograph me?

All sessions are conducted by Shay, a female photographer.  No one else will be present during your session and no one will see any of your images without your express written approval.

 

I’m nervous, what should I expect?

It’s perfectly normal to be a little nervous, but once we get things underway you’ll find yourself loosening up.  By the time we’re finished, I promise you’ll be telling me how much fun you had!  Just check out what others are saying on our testimonials page.
